What this is

Is Discomfort Clouding Your Joy?

Pregnancy should be a time of anticipation and happiness, but for many moms, it's overshadowed by sciatica, back pain, and anxiety about labor. Your body is undergoing massive hormonal and structural changes — your center of gravity shifts forward, ligaments loosen, and your pelvis widens to prepare for delivery. Neurologically focused chiropractic care supports these changes by ensuring your nervous system can communicate clearly with every muscle, ligament, and organ involved in a healthy pregnancy.

What we help with

The signals we hear most often.

These are the things that bring families to Pregnancy Chiropractic. None of them are the actual problem — they're just the most visible symptoms of an underlying nervous-system pattern.

Sciatica & Back Pain

As your center of gravity shifts forward and your belly grows, immense stress builds on the lower back, often compressing the sciatic nerve. This can cause shooting pain down the legs, making it painful to walk, sleep, or even sit comfortably.

Round Ligament Pain

The ligaments supporting your uterus stretch rapidly to accommodate your growing baby, causing sharp, stabbing pains in the lower abdomen. This discomfort often worsens with sudden movements, rolling over in bed, or standing up from a seated position.

Pelvic Misalignment

A twisted or rotated pelvis reduces the available room for your baby to grow and position correctly for birth. This misalignment can also contribute to longer, more difficult labor by preventing the baby from descending properly through the birth canal.

Sleep Issues

Physical discomfort from spinal pressure, hip pain, and restless legs often makes restful sleep nearly impossible during pregnancy. Poor sleep compounds stress on the nervous system, which can affect both your mood and your baby's development.

By the numbers

94%

of patients in our pregnancy chiropractic program complete the corrective phase of their care plan — meaning the change shows up in the data, not just on the table.

How we approach it

The Webster Technique Difference

Dr. Colton O'Brien is certified in the Webster Technique, a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nervous system and balances maternal pelvic muscles and ligaments. This approach optimizes neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis, creating the best possible environment for your baby to grow and position for birth. Unlike traditional chiropractic, our neurologically focused care uses INSiGHT scanning technology to objectively measure how your nervous system is adapting to the demands of pregnancy, so your care plan is personalized to exactly what your body needs.

“The body knows what to do. We just clear the way and trust the wisdom inside.”

What changes

The benefits people notice first.

Optimal Fetal Positioning

By balancing the pelvis and releasing tension in the surrounding ligaments, we create the best environment for your baby to get head-down naturally. A properly aligned pelvis gives your baby the room needed to settle into the ideal position for delivery.

Reduced Labor Times

Studies show that first-time moms under regular chiropractic care experience 24% shorter labor times on average. When the pelvis is balanced and the nervous system is functioning without interference, the body can coordinate contractions more effectively.

Postpartum Recovery

Maintaining spinal and pelvic alignment throughout pregnancy sets you up for a faster recovery after birth. Moms who receive consistent prenatal chiropractic care often experience less postpartum pain and a smoother transition into the demands of new motherhood.

Drug-Free Relief

Chiropractic provides safe, natural pain relief without medication that could affect your developing baby. Gentle adjustments address the structural cause of your discomfort rather than simply masking symptoms, giving you lasting relief you can feel good about.

I was told my baby was breech at 34 weeks. After starting care with Dr. Colton and using the Webster technique, my baby turned naturally, and I had the water birth I always dreamed of!

Your path

Three steps to lasting wellness.

Every pregnancy chiropractic care plan walks the same arc. The visit length, frequency, and specific protocols vary — the spine of the plan does not.

  1. 1

    Consult & scan

We start with a conversation and three INSiGHT scans to see exactly what's going on in your nervous system. No guessing, no gut-check — just data.

  2. 2

    Custom care plan

We build a plan tailored to your nervous system's specific needs, your goals, and your stage of life. You see the recommendation before you commit to anything.

  3. 3

    Gentle adjustments

Specific, gentle corrections to clear the interference and let your body do what it was designed to do — heal. Re-scanned at the end of each phase so you can see the change.

Before you book

Common questions about Pregnancy Chiropractic.

Is chiropractic safe during pregnancy?

Absolutely. We use specialized pillows and gentle techniques designed specifically for pregnant bodies. We avoid any unnecessary pressure on the abdomen, and our adjustments are modified for each trimester.

When should I start care?

You can start at any time! However, many moms begin in the first trimester to prevent discomfort before it starts. It's never too late to benefit — even starting care in the third trimester can make a significant difference.

Can this help with breech babies?

While we do not 'turn' babies, the Webster Technique balances the pelvis and relaxes the ligaments, often giving the baby the room they need to turn themselves. Many moms in our office have experienced their babies turning naturally after beginning care.

How often should I get adjusted during pregnancy?

This varies based on your INSiGHT scan results and how your body is responding. Most pregnant moms in our office are seen once a week, with some needing more frequent visits in the third trimester as the body prepares for labor.

Will my OB or midwife be okay with me seeing a chiropractor?

Most OBs and midwives in the Allen and DFW area are very supportive of prenatal chiropractic care. The American Pregnancy Association recognizes chiropractic as safe and beneficial during pregnancy. We are happy to communicate with your birth team.

Can chiropractic help with morning sickness?

Many moms report a reduction in nausea after starting care. The vagus nerve, which controls digestion and nausea signals, runs through the upper neck. When subluxations in this area are corrected, the nervous system can better regulate these functions.
